Highgate Cemetery

An exploration-focused Unreal environment based on Highgate Cemetery in London.  My goal here was to capture the atmosphere and architecture of the cemetery as accurately as possible while condensing it to a brief 5-10 minute experience.  Click the name for a video walkthrough.

Backalleys

This is an Unreal level that largely exists as a graybox, though I did create a handful of textures and 3D assets for it. My primary goal in designing it was to create a series of branching interconnected paths to give the player plenty of choice in how to proceed through the level; I also wanted to make sure those paths felt like natural parts of an urban environment rather than just generic corridors. City Soundscape

This is more an experiment in audio design than a "level" in a traditional sense: a city street (plus multiple interior locations) that the player can walk through and explore, with all context and atmosphere being created through the use of sound.  Click the name to download and play or watch a walkthrough.

The Tooth Factory

A level created in the in-game editor of Terry Cavanagh's VVVVVV, "The Tooth Factory" was an effort to create a fast-paced, difficult, and enjoyable level using only the elements of conveyor belts and spikes.  Click the name for a written design walkthrough.
