Spellbreak was a magic-based battle royale game that focused on dynamic movement, fast-paced spell slinging, and combining elemental powers to create devastating magic effects. The map was set in a massive ruined fantasy kingdom encompassing a wide range of biomes and numerous crumbled castles, archives, towns, and more for players to delve in search of power.
In my role on the project as an Associate Level Designer, I was responsible for the creation of numerous points of interest throughout the map, which you can explore by browsing this page. I also fixed map bugs, revised existing areas, placed loot, and contributed to general polish throughout my time with Spellbreak. In addition, I was the primary developer responsible for the integration of quest items, NPC spawns, and other quest-related functionality into the map. Throughout my time on Spellbreak, I worked with and received extensive guidance and mentorship from Proletariat’s lead level designer, Josh Hufton.
While Spellbreak is sadly no longer available after Proletariat Inc’s acquisition by Blizzard, the materials I’ve included here showing some of my favorite points of interest will hopefully give you a sense of my contributions to the game.
